Two things underpin wealth management: The understanding of the market and the understanding of people. I have always been intrigued by both, whether that was studying Economics at LSE, working in advertising or managing investments.
Coming from a family of very practical people, I was drawn to wealth management because, for me, it is the most practical area of finance.
I started my financial career in 2016 within the Research team at Killik & Co. Initially, I helped manage discretionary fund-based portfolios for private clients. I was itching to speak to clients directly and, after a few years, moved into a client-facing role.
In terms of qualifications, I am a CFA charterholder. From working directly with clients, I have found that the advice they require often involves an element of financial planning and so I am currently studying towards the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning so that we can provide a very holistic service to clients.
